A.Yes, you can install stainless steel extinguishers in your hotel. All our extinguishers are certified with the CE mark. We recommend that you check your insurance documentation to ensure that you are not required to install extinguishers in accordance with BS EN3, which would refer to the traditional red extinguisher. Should this be the case many insurance companies are happy to change this clause on request.
A.Yes, you can programme the Dorgard to close automatically at night. Once the pre-determined time has been selected the Dorgard will automatically release the plunger if open and close the door every night at the same time.
A.Yes, Dorgard automatically lifts the plunger to release and close the fire door when the fire alarm sounds. As a result of this it is a legal way to hold fire doors open.
A.You should either carry out, or contract somebody to carry out a fire risk assessment. This “responsible person” will make note of what you need to have in place to ensure your premises is “fire safe”. You can also use a fire extinguisher company to carry out a site survey (usually free) to tell you what extinguisher you need and where they need to be fitted.
A.The law states that every building has a “responsible person” for fire safety and fire risk assessments. It would be your responsibility to either carry out the fire risk assessment, or appoint someone to carry out the fire risk assessment, and ensure that servicing of all fire safety products is maintained.
A.The best thing to do is use extinguisher stands. You can still site and sign the extinguishers in the position required but you won’t damage your walls. Henry Wolfe offer these stands in chrome finish or stainless steel
